Died while cleaning out a well. He married Faithy Baker was b.10 JAN 1810 in Abbeville Dist, SC, d. 28 SEP 03, 1867 in Coosa Co, AL...married Enoch Asbury Knight in Henry Co, GA, 05 MAR 1827. Her Death: 2 SEP 1867 in Chilton County, Alabama Burial: 4 SEP 1867 Coosa County, Alabama -may be buried in Marble City Cemetery, Sylacauga, Alabama. James Allen Knight born 1 May 1829 (in Coweta Co.,Georgia?)died 22 Apr 1898. He married Martha Ann Jackson daughter of Mark and Balzora Jackson of Troup Co., Georgia. Martha Ann was born 21 Dec 1826 and died 2 Feb 1910. James and Martha are buried in Marble City Cemetery in Sylacauga.See Minutes Record Vol I/387.

This paper that is being shown was written by Susie Ellafair (Knight) Barkhimer/Campbell who was my grandmother....she was the daughter of John Walter Knight & his 2nd wife, Emily Jane (Dennis) Anderson, a young widow....John Walter was the son of Enoch Asbury, 1801, Knight & Faithy V. Baker (1810, daughter of John Baker & Mary Elizabeth Cannon)....John Walter married his first wife, Lucinda V. Warren, on 8th July 1858, in Cossa Co, AL...They are on the 1860 census together, and son, John Jefferson was born on 12 March 1862....but, by the 1870 census, they have are no longer together & John Walter is with his older brother, Wm Rufus & his family....John returns to Coosa Co, AL where he marries 2nd wife, Mrs. Emily Anderson....on 29th Feb 1875....this paper that Susie Knight wrote (on her family from her grandfather, Enoch Asbury Knight 1801 to her birth in 1888) in 1953, were her memories of her growing up....Susie told to her daughter, Lillie Ellen Barkhimer (my mother), and mother typed the paper....I sent this paper to a woman working in the Coosa Co, AL historical society and she is the one who posted this paper online....along with the marriage certificate of Enoch Asbury Knight & Faithy Baker (her maiden name was in question ?)....I found their marriage certif, her father's will naming her in his will, and a couple of bible records (with help from a family friend connected to this line)....one was the Vessell family bible & there was one more bible....a paper written by Drucilla Patterson, daughter of Elizabeth Knight, who was the daughter of Richard Lee Knight & Martha Satterwhite....and,this paper written by my grandmother Susie....all stating that Faithy's maiden name was Baker & not Parker....causing the society to change the maiden name they had for Faithy....from Parker to Baker....these papers were all entered onto the internet by Coosa Co, AL....I am June Delores (Cocke/Cox) Hall 1941, daughter of Lillie Barkhimer 1909 & granddaughter of Susie E. Knight 1888 & Geo Wash. Barkhimer....
